Got for 8 year old who generally doesn't like reading anything particularly involved, BUT this was a topic he found exciting, and he loved reading it.
I bought this for my 11 year old son who is a big fan of soccer (football) and Messi. He is not a big reader but he read this book twice! He told me about each and every chapter that he read. After he finished reading it for the second time I picked it up and read it myself! I can see why he enjoyed it. This book tells the story of Lionel Messi starting with his childhood and introduces you the reader to the people and events that shaped his life and ultimately his career in a lovely storytelling fashion. I found myself being so interested in his journey that the book was hard to put down!
My 10 year old daughter absolutely loved this book! She loves soccer and Messi and couldn't put this book down. She ended up finishing it in two days and keeps telling us all the cool things she learned about Messi.
I'm sure it was the subject matter, but he couldn't wait to read this every night. He would read it before school, and when he was done reading it, twice, he lent it to his friends with great enthusiasm that was contagious. Great for a boy who loves soccer more than reading.
I bought it for my 11 year old grandson. I decided to read it to be sure is was ok for him. I loved it !!!I have a whole new interest in the game and especially Leo Messi !! My grandson loved it also, thank you !!
This is a must have for any young soccer player. Good reading for a 4th grader. We love this series, reading about the obstacles the superstars overcame as they grew up.
Gave this as a gift to an 8 year old fan of Messi's. This child was very pleased. Shame it has no pictures tho.
My son wanted to know more about his favorite soccer player. His life as a kid and more. It's a big chapter book, I was surprised with my son he usually needs pictures .
My son can now tel you all of the stats on Messi. If your son doesn't like reading much, but likes Messi, then this is the book you should buy!! My son was carrying the book to school to be able and read it in his free time!! Qite a hot at this house!!
