This series of books is interesting and presents some thought-provoking evidence as well as questions. However, it was not what I expected. I expected a well-written investigative journalism piece and that is not what this is. I found it to be poorly written, from the almost "per page" grammatical errors to the bizarre mix of raven fiction with "true crime". I have to admit that the writing is really bad and there were many times that quotes were given but not enough analysis on them for me "get" what point the author was making. In short, it was a jumbled up mess that included some very important, factual information and commentary with fiction about ravens and some analyses that was more akin to how one would analyze poetry. I did appreciate the connections and references to the Ramsey case, however, I did not appreciate the references to the other cases. I think this is a fatal flaw in this series- to refer to multiple high profile cases that many readers will not agree with your conclusions. A lot of work has been done on many of these cases and the writer's view seems to follow the path of more conspiracy theory than reality. I bought all 3 books and read them all but will not be buying anymore by this author based on the interspersed references to high profile cases and what comes across supported conspiracy theory around them.

The writing in this is fairly poor and difficult to follow. To make it worse, Mr. Van der Leek jumps around a lot which makes all the more incoherent. One second Leek's is writing about some interview the McCann's did to randomly mentioning some mountaineer died. After that, Leek starts writing about some naval battle in the early 20th century and ravens and other birds. Then rinse and repeat. You may be wondering what do birds, a raven, a mountaineer dying and naval battles have to do with the disappearance Madeleine McCann? Nothing. It's there for padding as far as I can tell. There's no purpose for this e-book existing other than to capitalize off of a 3-year-old that disappear. It doesn't add anything. Well, maybe some copy-pasta. I am a tad impressed that Mr. Van der Leek can poop out these tabloid e-books fairly often.IMO, Mr. Van der Leek is a perfect example of the Dunning-Kruger effect in action!

Why are there next to no DNA traces left on this earth of Madeleine? In her former home in England, to the Beach Club resort in Portugal? Oh yeah, except those pesky odours of cadaver that can't be washed away.. The hours that are murky become less in this final investigation, and time is stretched and examined once again. Tread carefully.

This is a shameful, shameless book. How dare Nick van der Leek make the disappearance of a three year old girl into a grotesque comedy, a farce featuring supernatural ravens which fly through doors? The author repeats the phrase 'quork, quork, quork' on nearly every page.NvdL comes to the vile, libellous conclusion that the McCann's neglected Maddy by leaving her on the balcony for hours, locked out of the flat. When she fell off and was killed, they decided to hide her body in a storm drain. An utterly disgusting book.
