Australian-born David Wills is an author, independent curator, photographic preservationist, and editor who has accrued one of the world's largest independent archives of original photographs, negatives, and transparencies. He has contributed material to many publications and museums, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Phoenix Art Museum, and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.Wills has produced a series of photography exhibitions based on images from his archive. His shows include Murder, Models, Madness: Photographs from the Motion Picture Blow-Up; Edie Sedgwick: Unseen Photographs of a Warhol Superstar; Blonde Bombshell; James Bond; Women with Issues: Photographs from the Motion Picture Valley of the Dolls; and Warhology.Wills's books include Ara Gallant; Marilyn Monroe: Metamorphosis; Audrey: The 60s; Hollywood in Kodachrome; and Seventies Glamour. He is also the co-author of Veruschka.His books and exhibitions have received major profiles in the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, Vanity Fair, American Photo, Vogue, Interview, and Time. I've loved this book from the moment I had heard of its existence. The front cover features the iconic Columbus Circle scene from Eyes of Laura Mars which was a huge selling factor for me. I've always loved that shot, so I was more than pleased to find it as the cover for a coffee table book. The back cover is Margaux Hemingway who happens to be my favorite supermodel of all time. Sold. Sold. Sold.But theres so much more. Many iconic shots by Ara Gallant, Helmut Newton, etc..many..many not so known photographs which really makes this book shine.I can't say enough good things about this book. If you're on this page and were considering it, go for it. The few examples online do not show how much quality has gone into this book. Just fantastic.
Gave this as a gift to someone who really enjoys the 70s - so he was thrilled to have it. He spent most of Christmas day paging through it. Success.

As a fashion lover and pop culture aficionado, I love this book. Not only it reminds us of the best cult movie of the seventies, Eyes of Laura Mars (cover picture) but also brings back more and less known cultural icons of that era and presents the whole content with amazing pictures and great reading material. A must for everyone who loves 70s!
